Heading North!
We head north in the penultimate game of the season to North Shields, the final away game before a week off for Easter and then the last game at home vs Barnard Castle.
Shields occupy a position just above us, 4 points ahead just in reach if we were to take a bonus point win. A tall order given the travelling which always seems to impact us, having won just once on the road all season. However, we will, as always go and give it our best and see what the scores on the doors are come 4:30pm Saturday afternoon.
North Shields have had a tough season like us, however, their home form is pretty decent including a really creditable scoreline against Guisborough, who were finally and deservedly named league Champions last weekend
The reverse fixture was a frustrating affair at the Wok, Sedgie comfortably leading the game for 60 minutes before hitting the self destruct button and handing Shields the win. Hopefully we can fare better tomorrow.
Team News
Once again, the Sedgie shuffle the pack with the regular changes that seem to be customary now in grass roots rugby
Tom Ducker returns to prop alongside Seb Wilkins, with Lee Keillor donning the number 2 shirt, Ben Norris and Chris Lowe lock out in the 2nd row while the back row sees Pedro Gray drop into the 6 shirt to captain the side. Dom Ryan is at openside and Michael Reilly is at number 8.
Nathan Waterhouse returns from working comittments to take back scrum half duties while Gareth Pratt has shaken off an injury to take the number 10 shirt. John Pope and Andy Fife are a new look centre pairing and out wide Luke Towler has answered the call to wing it with Alex Skuse. Ryan Towler gets the chance to play full back.
On the bench Dan Martin and Paul Wilkinson provide plenty of forward cover.
